Angela Stangorra

Angela Stangorra studied with Prof. Jens Ellermann at the Hanover University of Music. After gaining her artist’s diploma, she worked as his assistant, graduating in 2001 with a concert diploma. Additional training came in the form of baroque violin studies with Prof. Anne Röhrig. Angela Stangorra completed advanced courses under Prof. Igor Ozim, Prof. Thomas Brandis and Prof. Rainer Kussmaul. As Concertmaster of the European Union Youth Orchestra, she performed with conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Carlo Maria Giulini and Sir Colin Davis.

In addition to her orchestral work as a member of the Bamberg Symphony since 2007, she has a strong interest in chamber music, where her musical horizons extend from historical performance practice to contemporary music. She is a founding member of fattoamano, the Bamberg Symphony’s baroque soloists’ ensemble.
