Benjamin Gatuzz

Born in Caracas, he began his musical training at the age of eight at "El Sistema" in Venezuela. Often invited as soloist to violin and chamber music festivals and played with the most important orchestras and conductors of Venezuela.

2007-2015 Concertmaster of the Youth Symphony Orchestra "Teresa Carreño" of Venezuela and undertook numerous international tours playing in the most important theatres and festivals of Europe, e.g. Teatro alla Scala, Concertgebouw, Konzerthaus Wien, Philharmonie Berlin, Salzburger Festspiele, Beethovenfest Bonn, occasionally conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado and others.

He participated in several masterclasses, e.g. with Nicola Benedetti, Albert Markov, Mihaela Martin, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Heime Müller, Christoph Poppen, Stephan Picard a.o. In 2016 and 2017 he took part in the Uttwiler Masterclasses in Switzerland and was selected to perform as soloist with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz in 2017 and 2018. Since 2021 concert exam student in the class of Prof. Andrej Bielow at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.

As a chamber musician he has played concerts in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Spain. In 2022 he won the Concerto Competition at the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival in Lucca, Italy, where he performed several concerts with orchestra in Italy and Germany.

2019-2020 Intern with the WDR Funkhausorchester. Since 2019 regularly invited to the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. From November 2020 2nd concertmaster at the Sinfonieorchester Aachen and since February 2023 member of the Bamberger Symphoniker.
