Boris-Alexander Jusa

Boris-Alexander Jusa was born in Freiburg im Breisgau, and had his first violin lessons aged eleven from his father. After graduating from secondary school, having taken lessons from Prof. Jörg Hofmann at the Freiburg University of Music, he enrolled at Mannheim’s University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2007 he passed his advanced diploma under Prof. Susanne Rabenschlag.

He took advanced classes with Prof. Lewis Kaplan and Prof. Shmuel Ashkenasi. From 2000 to 2009 he was leader of the Meritis Quartet, co-founded by him, and in which he enjoyed a busy career at international concert series and festivals, as well as making numerous radio recordings. Advanced classes with the Amadeus Quartet, Mandelring Quartet, Verdi Quartet, Vermeer Quartet and Prof. Eberhard Feltz completed his chamber music training.

From 2008 to 2011 he was section leader in the Stuttgart Philharmonic second violins. He has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony since 2012.
