Branko Kabadaić

Associate principal viola

Branko Kabadaić was born in Belgrade (Serbia) and studied viola at the city’s Music Academy under Prof. Petar Ivanović, and in Salzburg under Prof. Thomas Riebl. He received further tuition from Prof. Thomas Selditz, Prof. Nobuko Imai and Prof. Veronika Hagen, among others. He won prizes at various international competitions, for example the Petar Konjović International Competition and Salzburg Raiffeisen Classic Prize. He regularly gives concerts with various chamber music ensembles in the USA, South America, Japan, Mexico and Europe. He appears at international music festivals such as the City of London Festival, where he has performed alongside the Minguet Quartet, Itamar Golan and Leonidas Kavakos, for instance.

From 2007 to 2011 he was a member of the Camerata Salzburg, in which he also played solo viola. He has been viola of the Rubikon Quartet since 2009, and deputy solo viola of the Bamberg Symphony since 2010. Since 2014 he has also played in the Bamberg String Quartet.
