Christoph Müller

Principal clarinet

As a student I queued for several hours to hear Sergiu Celibidache and the Munich Philharmonic in a Bruckner symphony. Today I’m lucky, and grateful, to be able to play these wonderful works myself under great conductors..

Christoph Müller studied at the Universities of Music in Munich and Weimar under Prof. Ulf Rodenhäuser and Prof. Martin Spangenberg. He held scholarships from the Rhineland-Palatinate Villa Musica Foundation and Munich Philharmonic Orchestral Academy.

After a stint at the Frankfurt am Main Opera, in 2006 he became solo clarinet in the Bamberg Symphony. He has since assisted in the same position at the Berlin and Munich Philharmonic, the Bavarian and North German Radio Symphony Orchestras, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Dresden Staatskapelle, among others.
