Dorothee Klatt

Dorothee Klatt started playing the violin aged eight. At 15, she went to the Essen Folkwang Music School to study with Helmuth Hoever. After graduating from secondary school she studied with Prof. Franzjosef Maier at the Cologne University of Music, with Prof. Wolfgang Marschner at the Freiburg University of Music, and with Prof. Uwe-Martin Haiberg at the Lübeck Academy of Music. Meanwhile she also performed in many chamber groups, coached by the Amadeus Quartet and Walter Levin (LaSalle Quartet) among others. After posts in various youth and professional orchestras, she became a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in 1991.
