Jueyoung Yang was born in Anyang, South Korea, began violin lessons in 1996 and attended the Yewon School of Music in Seoul. In 2005 she also started studying at the Seoul Arts High School. In 2006 she moved to Berlin to continue her studies under Prof. Ilan Gronich at the University of the Arts. She graduated with distinction, and in 2011 embarked on postgraduate studies with Ning Feng and Prof. Eva-Christina Schönweiß at Berlin’s Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. On completing these, she pursued further studies in Prof. Erich Höbarth’s advanced class at Leipzig’s Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre.
Jueyoung Yang won several prestigious prizes, for instance in the International Hindemith Competition and Ibolyka Gyarfas Foundation Violin Competition. In 2011 she held a scholarship from Berlin’s Paul Hindemith Society, attending numerous advanced courses. As a chamber musician she performed at various festivals, including Yellow Barn Music in the USA and Holland’s Schiermonnikoog Music Festival, as well as holding a scholarship from the Rhineland-Palatinate Villa Musica Foundation.
She interned at the NDR Hamburg Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Berlin Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and Berlin Staatskapelle. She has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2017.
