Lucie de Roos

Lucie de Roos started playing the cello at the age of 9, after the expulsion of the recorder teacher and exhausting piano lessons with her neighbour.
Through her successes with »Jugend musiziert« she became a member of the Bundesjugendorchester and found her career wish there. In addition, she became increasingly enthusiastic about chamber music.
At the age of 15 she was accepted as a young student at the Musikhochschule Mannheim by Mr. Roland Kuntze. After graduating from high school, she studied at the Karlsruhe State University of Music under Prof. Martin Ostertag. Meanwhile she completed an internship with the SWR-Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden/Freiburg and played as an assistant in orchestras such as the HR-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. She was also a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Chamber Music Foundation.
In 2003 she went to Spain as solo cellist for one and a half years to the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada. Back in Germany, she was offered a temporary contract with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
She has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony since September 2005.
