Michaela Reichel Silva began her musical training in 1996 in Regensburg, as a scholarship-holder in Prof. Conrad von der Goltz’s class for talented young musicians. Later she studied with Prof. Herwig Zack in Würzburg, where she passed her diploma exam with distinction. She gained crucial motivation from advanced classes under Prof. Tibor Varga, Prof. Thomas Brandis, Prof. Igor Ozim and Prof. Rosa Fain, among others. She was supported by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation’s Live Music Now initiative. In 2005 she won first prize in the Berthold Hummel Competition, and was also awarded the audience prize. Michaela Reichel Silva has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2008.
