Stefan Lüghausen was born in Munich. From 1984 he studied at the Düsseldorf University of Music, graduating in 1990. From 1990 to 1998 he was substitute trombone in the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duisburg. He has been trombonist with the Bamberg Symphony since 1998.
