Vladislav Popyalkovsky

A native of Latvia, Vladislav Popyalkovsky lived in St. Petersburg from the age of three. He studied at the city’s Conservatoire with Prof. Ilya Ioff and Inga Dzekzer, and later with Prof. Uwe-Martin Haiberg at Berlin’s University of the Arts. On the strength of his numerous competition wins and solo appearances in Germany and abroad, he was awarded scholarships by the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society, Rimsky-Korsakov Foundation and Axel Springer publishing house.

He played in the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, and in Berlin’s Radio Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, Konzerthaus Orchestra and Deutsche Oper. In 2007 and 2008 Vladislav Popyalkovsky was employed by the NDR Symphony Orchestra, and subsequently by the Hamburg Symphony. Vladislav Popyalkovsky has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2010. From 2015 to 2017, he was also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
