Wolfram Hauser

Wolfram Hauser was born in Aalen and had his first violin lessons with Prof. Ulrich Edelmann and Michael Wieck, and then as a junior student under Prof. Ingolf Turban at the Stuttgart University of Music. When the time came for higher studies, he was already an enthusiastic chamber viola player and switched full-time to the viola, joining Prof. Andra Darzins’ class in Stuttgart. He also studied with Prof. Simon Rowland-Jones at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and took advanced classes with Prof. Wolfram Christ, Prof. Barbara Westphal and Prof. Kim Kashkashian.

He held a scholarship from the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestral Academy, and was a prize-winner at the International William Primrose Viola Competition (USA). He has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony since September 2011, and has substituted as solo viola in the Bamberg Symphony and Cologne Gürzenich Orchestras.
