The Bamberg Symphony - Bavarian State Philharmonic's funding come from the Free State of Bavaria, the City of Bamberg, the District of Upper Franconia and the Bamberg region.
Ladies and gentlemen, fellow music-lovers,
Ladies and gentlemen,
More than ever, our Bavarian State Philharmonic is on the road to success. After a year with its new Principal Conductor Jakub Hrůša in charge, we can truly say: audiences and critics have been taken by storm. And not only in Bamberg. All over the world, Hrůša and the Bamberg Symphony are in great demand. In November 2017, he will lead the Orchestra on a tour of Spain, followed in June 2018 by a trip to Japan.
That will be the 15th tour of Japan in the history of the Bamberg Symphony – Bavaria could hardly wish for a better cultural ambassador to the world. By now, the Orchestra’s travel log includes 520 cities, all over the globe – and the Bamberg Symphony is constantly adding new pages to its musical world atlas.
At home in the world, based in Bamberg – for more than 70 years this has been true of the Bamberg Symphony. In this spirit I wish all music-lovers many uplifting concerts with the Bamberg Symphony – whether in Bamberg, Tokyo or Madrid.
