The U30 offer of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra
Great orchestral music for everyone under 30
The previous student and pupil subscription to the Bamberg Symphony has been given a new look and feel for the opening of the 2023/24 season. As an "U30 subscription", everyone under 30 can enjoy world-class concerts for only 15 euros. On top of that, the U30 single tickets offer maximum flexibility beyond the subscription.
Now that's a bang for the buck! The U30 subscription is a sensational upgrade to the previous student and pupil subscription. Kids and teens, schoolchildren and apprentices, students and young professionals can book every seat in every category* for only 15 euros as part of the new U30 offer.
A quick check of the U30 offer
The new U30 subscription is aimed at all classical music fans up to their 30th birthday. You choose one of the five subscription series A to E and fix your U30 subscription to it:
- Subscription A: 10 concerts
- Subscription B: 8 concerts
- Subscriptions C, D and E: 6 concerts
Each concert costs a flat rate of 15 euros. The U30 subscription is therefore ideal for children and grandchildren in families in which all over 30s have a regular subscription. The highlight: for the U30 price you can even get the best seat - for the whole season!
Maximum flexibility with U30 single tickets
If you don't want to commit to subscription dates for an entire season, you can retain full spontaneity with U30 single tickets. These single tickets are also available for all concerts in all seat categories* for a flat rate of 15 euros. The prerequisite for their purchase is U30 membership, which costs 30 euros per season.
The special extra for U30 subscribers: they are automatically U30 members and can thus purchase additional single tickets beyond their subscription concerts at the preferential price of 15 euros.

The »Slam Symphony« is now in its ninth round in Bamberg and, as always, three award-winning poetry slammers will compete against each other to win the audience prize before the young Latvian conductor Aivis Greters performs the symphonic work. This time we will focus on Berlioz, a man about whom it was said that »despite all the eccentricity his compositions exude, he is a peculiar man, if only because he is driven by a burning, enthusiastic love for the arts, because he has blazed his own trail, and – because he is a character«. Bearing this year‘s motto in mind, his legendary »Symphonie fantastique« is a must: in 1830, the romantic fiery-head had a »fixed idea« that left its mark when it comes to setting states of the soul in music. At that time, the very young composer was in love with an actress unattainable to him. And so he composed these »Episodes from the Life of an Artist«, which of course was himself: the tale of a consuming passion, of hell, opium and madness. The almost obsessively adored one is both a wishful and distorted image in one and, in the »Idée fixe«, almost like a nightmare, always present – because this leitmotif constantly throws his soul into turmoil. It will be exciting to hear which lyrics and words will come to the slammers‘ minds!
