The Bamberg Symphony is rightly considered the German touring orchestra and feels at home in all the major concert venues worldwide. Their true home, however, is the Bamberg Concert Hall – Bavaria's best auditorium.

Joseph Keilberth was the first Chief Conductor of the Bamberg Symphony. Our Orchestra Academy is named after him.
Since the 2015/16 season, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie have been working closely together.
For several years the Bamberg Symphony have been organising concerts for children, young people and their families.
Since 2003 the Bamberg Symphony has held the honorary title of »Bavarian State Philharmonic«. They are Bavarias cultural ambassador to the world.
Since 1982 the »Friends of the Bamberg Symphony« have been supporting the work of the Orchestra and have accompanied the musicians on various tours abroad.
