Section leader double bass

Christian Hellwich, a passionate bassist (double bass and bass guitar), has been playing with the Bamberg Symphony since 1990.

For almost as long, he has been a regular at the Jazzclub Bamberg. In addition to countless jam sessions, he has performed numerous concerts with a variety of ensembles – from trios to big bands.

Exploring a wide range of styles and musical traditions – from Baroque music, tango, and folk music from around the world to, of course, every branch of jazz – is something especially close to his heart.
