Eduard Resatsch

Eduard Resatsch studied in his home city of Lviv (Ukraine) with Eugen Spitzer, graduating with distinction. While still a student, he gave concerts in Germany, Austria and Poland as a soloist and chamber musician.

In 1992 he was a prize-winner in Kiev’s International Lysenko Competition. From 1996, he pursued further studies at the Berlin’s University of the Arts, with the renowned Professor Eberhard Finke (first solo cello of the Berliner Philharmoniker), during which time he also played in various orchestras, including the Bamberg Symphony and Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. This period was also marked by numerous chamber music projects and radio and CD recordings.

In 2017, a work by Eduard Resatsch (‘Ratze-Fatze-Rüdiger: A Little Rat with a Whistle’, performed by Trio Colorit and issued on CD) was awarded the Leopold Media Prize. Eduard Resatsch currently has a commission from the Berlin Konzerthaus to compose a new piece for children, to be premiered during the 2018/2019 season in its series »Klangküken«.
