Günther Forstmaier

Principal clarinet

Günther Forstmaier was born in Immenstadt and studied at the Universities of Music in Freiburg and Hanover with Prof. Dieter Klöcker and Prof. Hans Deinzer. He was a prize-winner in the Bonn German Music Competition and Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition. He spent two years as solo clarinet of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra in Vienna, and has been solo clarinet in the Bamberg Symphony since 1994.
