Hana Hasegawa

Hana Hasegawa was born in Bayreuth in 1999 and grew up in Matsudo, Japan.
 
She began playing the bassoon in the school wind orchestra at the age of 13. After her one-year exchange at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest and graduating from school in Japan, she moved to Germany in 2018 to study with Prof. Bence Bogányi at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.

Parallel to her studies, she was a scholarship holder in the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2020 to 2022 and was sponsored by Yehudi Menuhin - LMN Hannover.

She has achieved excellent results at numerous international competitions, including the Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox International Competition 2022 and The Muri competition 2023.

She has gained orchestral and chamber music experience at the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Moritzburg Festival, the Pacific Music Festival and at festivals in Slovenia and Austria. She plays as a guest in the Budapest Festival Orchestra and other German orchestras.

Hana Hasegawa has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 1 December 2023.
