Jan Rosenkranz

Jan Rosenkranz grew up in Saarbrücken and began his musical training on the piano and guitar. Thanks to a joint project of the Saarbrücken State Youth Orchestra and Kaiserslautern German Radio Philharmonic, he discovered an enthusiasm for orchestral playing.

After junior studies at Saarbrücken’s University of Music, he studied from 2007 to 2013 with Prof. Dorin Marc in Nuremberg. Further artistic influences came from Thomas Jauch and Lutz Müller, among others. In 2010 he was awarded a scholarship by the Bavarian State Orchestral Academy, followed by a temporary contract as solo double bass in the Nuremberg State Philharmonic. He performs in various renowned orchestras as a guest artist. Jan Rosenkranz has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2014.
