Manon Stassen

Manon Stassen, born in Belgium, studied violin in the violin class of Richard Pieta at the Royal Conservatory of Liège and later at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in the class of Tatiana Samouil. In parallel, she also took up piano studies for ten years. She completed a second master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig with Carolin Widmann. At the age of 21, she emerged as the 2nd prize winner of the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition. She was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra as well as an academist in the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Manon Stassen attended numerous master classes and was second violinist in the "Quartet-889" for five years.

From 2016 to 2020 she was associate principal of the second violins in the Aachen Symphony Orchestra and made guest appearances as principal with numerous orchestras such as the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, Duisburg Philharmonic, Dortmund Philharmonic, Opera Royal de Wallonie, Brussels Philharmonic, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Orchestra.

She has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2020.
