Minkyung Sul
2nd Concertmaster
Minkyung Sul completed her Bachelor's degree at the Korean National University of Arts with Namyun Kim and continued her Master's studies at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule in Berlin with Saschko Gawriloff, graduating in 2016. Then she studied in Carolin Widmann's master class in Leipzig, where she received her master class degree in 2022. She is a prize winner of various international competitions, including a 2nd prize at the Isang Yun (Tongyeong) Competition, Louis Spohr Competition, and a prize winner at the Rodolfo Lipizer Competition.
She was awarded the Carl-Flesch-Prize at the Baden-Baden Carl-Flesch-Academy and the Brahms Prize by the Brahms Society.
As a soloist she has performed with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bulgaria Shumen Orchestra, the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra and the P. Constantinescu di Ploiesti Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also given concerts at the Villa Pappendorf and the Allerheiligen Kirche in Munich. She was an academist with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and concertmaster in the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra.
She has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2018.
