Timea Acsai

Timea Acsai was born in Hungary. She began her studies as a junior student at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, in Professor Lóránt Kovács’ class. After obtaining her bachelor's degree in Budapest, she continued her studies with Professor Andrea Lieberknecht in Hanover and Munich, where she graduated in 2015 with an advanced soloist’s diploma. While a student she received a Berliner Philharmoniker Karajan Academy scholarship.

As part of her training, she regularly took advanced courses with renowned flautists, including Emmanuel Pahud, Henrik Wiese, András Adorján, Gergely Ittzés and Dejan Gavric. Timea Acsai is a winner of numerous prizes in national and international flute competitions – among others, first prize in both the Fifth Beijing International Music Competition (China) and the First European International Flute Competition in Thessaloniki (Greece). She was awarded second prize at the International Prague Spring Flute Competition (Czech Republic) and was also finalist in the Eighth Kobe International Flute Competition (Japan).

Timea Acsai has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2018.
