Ulrich Kircheis

Ulrich Kircheis, born in Dresden, completed his bassoon studies at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar with Prof. Georg Klütsch.

After engagements at the State Orchestra Frankfurt/Oder and the Orchestra of the State Theatre Darmstadt, he has been a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra since 2011.

In recent years, teaching assignments have taken him to the conservatories in Frankfurt/Main, Weimar and Cologne. He currently teaches at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.

Temporary work as an orchestral musician has taken him to many European orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the DR Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and the symphony orchestras of the BR, NDR, WDR and SWR. He also performs regularly with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and, at the invitation of András Schiff, with the Capella Andrea Barca.
