The Bamberg Symphony is rightly considered the German touring orchestra and feels at home in all the major concert venues worldwide. Their true home, however, is the Bamberg Concert Hall – Bavaria's best auditorium.
Contemporary music as an »encore«: Since the season 2014/15, the Bamberg Symphony has been playing the world premieres of encores that have been commissioned by the Orchestra.
In 2013, the Bamberg Symphony created this new concert format - a combination of music and poetry slam.

Since 1982 the »Friends of the Bamberg Symphony« have been supporting the work of the Orchestra and have accompanied the musicians on various tours abroad.

The Bamberg Symphony's collaboration with Bavarian Radio dates back to the 1950s; today they still enjoy a close partnership, the source of countless concert relays, studio recordings and co-productions for LP and CD.
